About Me

After a long spell working full time in Higher Education, Sue ended her teaching career enjoying teaching history courses for adults part time. She has been a trustee of two national and two regional charities. She has published many historical articles in research journals such as the Journal of the Georgian Group and, Garden History as well as Sussex Archaeological Collections. The topics range from the development of Georgian and Victorian resorts to country and urban estate management and, the development of country houses and gardens. She has normally used Sussex as her case study area partly because so much needs to be done to understand the history of this county. For the last decade she has set up the programmes for the popular history days run by the Sussex Archaeological Society which have helped to bring the results of current research to the county.
